So sad in more than one way: Paris Jackson speaks @ her Dad's mermorial...

Is it just me or should've one of the Jackson family members not let poor Paris take the stage? The poor girl just lost her father and they let her take the stage for all the wrong reasons. I think it's cruel to put so much pressure on an 11 year old.

(this definately falls into the same category with Jon & Kate's poor kids)

I know, it seems weird. I'm just hoping that she, herself, asked to speak. She seems like a pretty precocious little girl. Really paying attention to everything that was going on, unlike her older brother.

I'm just hoping that it was her choice to speak and not that anyone made her. She seems very precocious and like she was really soaking in everything, unlike her older brother who just seemed bored.

I don't think there was any exploitation here, simply a girl saying goodbye to her father.

I've got to agree. She probably wanted to speak, however, it seemed as if the family was pushing her to do it. They were probably "supporting" her and encouraging her - but it just came out much differently to me.

I believe the entire spectacle was more for show than a true memorial. And I have issues with the need for LA to request financial assistance in paying for the memorial. How does that work? Why is the city of LA paying for a personal memorial service?

I think it was her choice to speak. She was paying attention the whole time and standing and clapping for some of the speakers. It was obvious to me that she chose to speak.
